Library Reflection

Courtney Reissing the Author of The Accidental Feminist

When exploring the library for something to check out I came Across the book The Accidental Feminist its bright vibrant pink color is what drew me to this book once I opened the book it grabbed my attention and made me want to read more. As explained by Amazon this book is about "wife, mom, and successful writer who recounts her journey out of accidental feminism, offering wise counsel for Christian women related to relationships, body image, and more―drawing from the Bible rather than culture."

My relationship with technology has most definitely influenced my relationship with the library. These technological tools at the tip of my fingertips have allowed me to access almost everything I could need to complete my work regarding books and textbooks. I will say while I love going to the Library to do my work I can't remember the last time that I went to the library to check out a book. While libraries have countless benefits such as great access to information, promoting literacy, and preserving culture and history I Just don't see my generation using libraries regularly to access information because in 2024 it is so readily accessible through technology. In my free time, I love reading books and I usually purchase them from bookstores and then pass them on to my friends and family rather than going to a library to check them out. There are many pros and cons when it comes to using technology in place of a physical library. Some pros include efficiency, 24/7 access, remote learning, and global accessibility. While cons include instructions and multitasking, limited physical interactions, and the quality of information. Choosing between technology and physical libraries is based on individual needs and preferences which is why I feel as though I will stick to the technical approach and visit the library on occasion to access resources that are not obtainable on the web.
