When it comes to the average day, there are many what I…I could write about it. One thing in particular that I was drawn to write about is what I think about on any given day. When I wake up I often have the feeling of anticipation and wonder to myself what this day will hold..will it go by in a breeze or feel like the longest day ever? I work to constantly remind myself that a new day is a new start to make my life what I want it to be. I wonder..will I be in a kind mood or one of my bitchy moods that I get into before my time of the month? I calm myself reminding my thoughts that at the end of the day, I will get through it as I always do and will be in bed watching my favorite show as I drift back into my sleep with my relaxing candle lit. I wake up do all the normal things and think about whether today is a coffee day or not. On days when I wake up feeling refreshed, I pass but most days I end up with a coffee in my hand just like every other college student. Essentially whatever my mood calls for which can vary throughout the day. A constant thought I have throughout my day is if I have all my work done that needs to be done as most times I do but there is the perfectionist side of me that just needs to triple-check. As my thoughts vary daily, there are always those thoughts that live rent-free for all 7 days. I felt this topic was particularly important to write about as our thoughts can shape the narratives of our lives. Both positive and negative thoughts are thoughts and are valid and important when it comes to the person we are and the person we desire to be.
The concept of a selfie can be seen through different lenses. Some may view them as a form of self-love while others may view the concept as a form of self-obsession and others see them as a way to connect and share our lives with others. Some argue it's just a simple way to “capture the moment”. With this, I believe that selfies should be used in a way that feels right for you If you want to snap a pic of yourself looking good before going for a night out on the down do! If you want to capture a picture of yourself with an elephant on a safari do it! The majority think of these selfies as a form of self-expression that can capture all of life's moments. Who are we to tell people how and why they choose to take a selfie? In terms of the What I eat in a day post where we saw what various people eat in a day, I found it to be a lot deeper than just a picture of people with their meals. I saw this as way to demonstrate different economies and how different day-to-day lives can vary so widely. I found this gallery of photos to be interesting yet upsetting because food is something that is not consistent in many people's lives. I also took this gallery as a way to appreciate all I have in my life and not take simple necessities in life for granted.

I really liked this concept as a whole. We spend so much of our time everyday inside our own brains having our own thoughts, and it is those that make us into the unique human beings we are. I especially enjoyed the description while discussing the effect the thoughts will have on your day and giggled at the "time of the month" comment (felt).
ReplyDeleteAmazing post! I really liked the boldness of your post and your discourse prior to your reflection on selfies prefaces really nicely when you proceed to talk about the simplicity of "capturing the moment" and sharing your belief on the matter; a very positive take on the good use of selfies!
